How chelorens Came to Be
chelorens was established in Bangkok by a small group of healthcare professionals and social workers who had spent years supporting older adults in hospitals and community settings. They kept seeing the same problem: seniors with complex needs being cared for in environments that felt clinical, rushed, or disconnected from the rhythms of home life.
Their answer was to create something quieter and more personal — a place where residents are genuinely known, where staff have time to listen, and where the pace of each day is shaped around the person rather than an institutional schedule.
The name chelorens draws from the image of celadon pottery — understated, enduring, and made with patience. That sensibility runs through every aspect of how we operate, from the physical spaces to the relationships between staff and residents.
Today, chelorens serves seniors across three residence tiers, from those who simply enjoy having good company and practical support nearby, to those living with complex medical or cognitive needs who require skilled, round-the-clock nursing. What remains constant is the same intent that shaped the beginning: to make each resident's daily life genuinely comfortable, dignified, and full.

What Guides Us
Our Mission and Values
Every decision at chelorens — from staffing to menus to how a room is furnished — is shaped by these principles.
Dignity Always
Every resident is a whole person with a lifetime of experience. We treat each one with the respect and consideration that their years deserve.
Listening First
Before we make decisions about someone's care, we take time to understand their preferences, their history, and what makes them feel comfortable.
Family as Partners
Families are not visitors — they are part of the care team. We keep communication open, honest, and regular so families always feel close, even from a distance.
Continuous Learning
The field of elder care is always evolving. We invest regularly in staff development so our team stays current with best practices in nursing, dementia care, and palliative support.
Honesty in All Things
We are straightforward with families about what we observe, what we are doing, and what options are available — especially during difficult care transitions.
Joy in Daily Life
We believe there should be something to look forward to every day — a familiar face, a meal enjoyed, a small outing, a story shared. These moments matter deeply.

How We Work
Standards We Hold to Every Day
These are not aspirations — they are the operational practices that shape how chelorens functions from morning to night.
Individual Care Plans
Each resident's care plan is documented, reviewed monthly, and updated whenever their needs or preferences shift.
Safeguarding Protocols
All staff complete regular safeguarding training. We maintain clear procedures for escalation and resident protection.
Nutritional Standards
Menus are developed with nutritional guidance and reviewed regularly to align with residents' health conditions and cultural preferences.
Privacy & Data Protection
Resident and family information is handled in accordance with Thai data protection regulations and shared only as needed for care delivery.
Falls Prevention
Spaces are assessed for environmental risk. Personal mobility plans are in place for residents who need them, and staff conduct regular monitoring rounds.
Medication Safety
Medication administration is managed by qualified nursing staff, recorded accurately, and reconciled with prescribing doctors at each review.
Complaint Handling
Families and residents can raise concerns at any time. All feedback is acknowledged within 24 hours and addressed with full transparency.
Emergency Preparedness
Emergency procedures and evacuation plans are documented, practised regularly, and communicated clearly to all staff on every shift.
Senior Residential Care in Bangkok — What Families Should Know
Choosing a residential care home for an older family member involves many layers of consideration: the level of assistance they currently need, how those needs might change over time, the distance from family, and the character of the people who will provide daily support. At chelorens, we understand that families rarely arrive at this decision easily or quickly.
Located in Chatuchak, Bangkok, chelorens sits in a well-connected part of the city that allows family members to visit regularly without long travel. Our three residence tiers — Independent Living, Personal Care, and Full Spectrum Nursing — are designed to meet people where they are, and to adjust as their situation evolves.
Elder care in Thailand has changed substantially over recent years. Older adults and their families increasingly seek environments that combine professional medical oversight with genuine warmth — places that do not feel like institutions. chelorens was built with exactly that balance in mind: consistent clinical standards operating beneath a surface that feels, as much as possible, like a thoughtful and well-run home.
We work with residents who speak Thai, English, Mandarin, and Japanese, and we are accustomed to supporting international families managing care arrangements across borders. Our family liaison team is available throughout the week and communicates clearly in writing and by phone.
